Pharmocological action
CLOMIVER (Clomiphene Citrate) is a potent, effective anti-estrogen, officially classified as a selective estrogen receptor modulator (SERM).
The mechanism of action is explained by the ability to specifically bind to estrogen receptors in the hypothalamus and ovaries. In small doses, the drug enhances the secretion of gonadotropic hormones (prolactin, follicle-stimulating and luteinizing hormones) and stimulates ovulation.
CLOMIVER can also be used as a Post Cycle Therapy (PCT) medication in order to stimulate suppressed testosterone production due to anabolic steroid use.
 
 
Dosage & method of use
For the purpose of fertility aid, female are prescribed of CLOMIVER 50 mg per day for 5 days, during which the reaction of the ovaries should be monitored by clinical and laboratory studies. Ovulation usually occurs between the 11th and 15th days of the cycle;
For oligospermia, male are prescribed CLOMIVER 50 mg per day for 6 weeks under the systematic control a spermogram;
For Post Cycle Therapy (PCT), CLOMIVER doses usually start at 100-150 mg per day for 1-2 weeks, then the dose is reduced to 50-100 mg per day for 1-2 weeks and ends at 1-2 weeks at 50 mg in a day. In total, Clomiphene Citrate therapy should last 4-6 weeks, so the dosage should be based and taken into account on this complete schedule.
 
Side effects
On the part of the central nervous system and visual organs: dizziness, headache, depression, fatigue, irritability, sleep disturbance, transient visual disturbances;
On the part of the digestive tract: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, flatulence;
On the part of the urogenital system: cystic enlargement of the ovaries, dysmenorrhea, pollakiuria, polyuria, multiple pregnancy;
Allergic reactions: rarely - urticaria, allergic dermatitis;
Others: hot flashes, weight gain, thromboembolic complications, hair loss, pain in the chest, testicles, hyperthermia.
